Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

NikahUp is a service operated by Pyar App LLC, a limited liability company registered in Texas, United States ("NikahUp", "we", "us", "our"). We operate the NikahUp mobile application and the website nikahup.co. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. 2. Information we collect

• Phone number. Collected at registration for identity verification via one time passcode (OTP), and used as your account identifier.
• Family profile information. The family name, city, and details about the family member seeking a match (such as first name, age, sect, education, profession, and similar attributes) entered voluntarily by the family guardian using the app.
• Photos. Uploaded voluntarily. Photos are stored securely and remain blurred to other users until a mutual match is confirmed.
• Location. City level only, used to show relevant matches. Precise GPS coordinates are never stored or shared with other users.
• Device information. Device type, operating system version, and push notification token, used to deliver app notifications and maintain app stability.
• Usage data. In app interactions such as expressions of interest, matches, and chat activity, used to operate and improve the service.
• Reports and safety data. If you report or block another family, we collect the report reason and related context to review the report and enforce our policies.

3. Legal bases for processing

Where required by law (including for users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), we rely on the following legal bases to process your personal data: performance of a contract (to provide the app and its features to you), consent (for example, where you voluntarily provide photos or profile details, which you may withdraw at any time), legitimate interests (to keep the service safe, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the app), and legal obligation (to comply with applicable law).

4. SMS and phone communications

We use SMS messaging solely to deliver one time passcodes (OTP) for account verification. By providing your phone number you consent to receive this transactional SMS. We do not send marketing SMS messages, and OTP consent is never shared with third parties for marketing purposes. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply. You may contact jawad@nikahup.co to request deletion of your phone number and account at any time.

5. How we use your information

• To verify your identity and create and maintain your account.
• To show your family profile to other families in the discovery feed.
• To facilitate matches, in app chat, and voice and video calls between matched families.
• To send push notifications about interests, matches, and messages.
• To review reports, enforce our policies, and detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations.
• To operate, maintain, analyze, and improve the service.

6. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for cross context behavioral advertising. We share information only with trusted third party service providers who process data on our behalf under contract, and only as needed to operate the app. These providers fall into the following categories:

• Communications providers. These deliver OTP SMS messages and push notifications.
• Messaging and calling providers. These power in app chat and voice and video calls.
• Cloud hosting and storage providers. These host our service and store and serve account data, photos, and media securely.
• Email delivery providers. These deliver internal email related to safety reports.
• App store and payment processors. These process in app subscription purchases. We never receive or store your full payment card details.
• Law enforcement or regulators. We may share information when required by applicable law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.

7. International data transfers

We are based in the United States and process data there. If you access NikahUp from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. Where required, we put in place appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for such transfers.

8. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or enforce our agreements. You may request deletion at any time by emailing jawad@nikahup.co.

9. Security

We use industry standard security practices, including HTTPS encryption in transit, JWT authentication, hashed tokens, access controls, and server side enforcement of photo blurring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and while we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's privacy

NikahUp is intended solely for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and every family member profile created within the app must represent an individual aged 18 or older. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under 18, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact jawad@nikahup.co.

11. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at jawad@nikahup.co. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

EEA and UK residents. You have rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California residents. Under the CCPA and CPRA, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it, the right to delete and correct it, and the right to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. You may exercise these rights using the contact details above.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email, and we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of NikahUp after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
